SKOMER - Northumberland & Northeast

Skomer isn't going to win any beauty contests, but for a shallow wreck dive, it's got character. Lying in just 3m of water, this old fishing vessel is a fantastic spot for a relaxed exploration, especially for anyone looking to get some wreck time in without deep diving. The deck structure is well-broken, with plenty of nooks and crannies that have become home to small crabs and a surprising number of blennies. On a calm day, with a bit of sunlight, the visibility here can be surprisingly good, making it easy to poke around the scattered debris and imagine its working days. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, perfect for a long bottom time and getting comfortable navigating an artificial reef.
