National Aquatic Service - Québec
The team at National Aquatic Service are your go-to for diving in Québec. We really rate their knack for making cold water diving accessible and genuinely enjoyable, which, let’s be honest, isn't always a given up here. If you’re serious about year-round diving or just curious about what lies beneath Canada’s freshwater, these are the folks to talk to. What we love most is their sheer range of specialty courses. Not every centre offers Ice Diving, for example, and doing it with National Aquatic Service means you're learning from people who truly understand the unique challenges and rewards. We’ve been out with them when the air bites and the water hovers just above freezing, and the quiet beauty of a frozen lake from below is something else – the way light filters through the ice, the eerie stillness. Their Deep Diving and Dry Suit courses are also top-notch, essential for really exploring the local sites. We’d suggest pairing the Dry Suit course with their Wreck Diving specialty; there are some intriguing sunken relics in the area, and staying warm makes all the difference when you’re taking your time to explore. They’re also one of the few places we’ve found that covers the full spectrum of First Response training, which is always a good sign of a well-rounded and safety-conscious operation.
