With 177+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, bull sharks, dolphins, eagle rays and nurse sharks - El Meco offers some of Cozumel's richest diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
El Meco in Cozumel offers a drift dive over a sand bottom dotted with coral heads. We’ve seen nurse sharks resting here, plus plenty of southern stingrays and occasional eagle rays passing through. It’s a good choice for divers who enjoy a relaxed pace and appreciate spotting larger, bottom-dwelling creatures. Keep an eye out for conch and other shelled critters in the sand.
