Royal Azur Makadi Bay sits in the sheltered waters of Makadi Bay, a reliable spot when the northern winds kick up. It’s a fairly shallow reef, topping out around 18 metres, making it a good choice for newer divers looking to build some confidence or anyone wanting a relaxed second dive. We often find schooling bannerfish here, along with the usual cast of Red Sea characters like parrotfish grazing the corals and the occasional blue-spotted stingray cruising the sandy patches. While it’s not going to blow your mind with massive pelagics, it’s a consistently pleasant dive for observing reef life.
