Scorpion Dive Club - Sharm el-Sheikh
The team at Scorpion Dive Club are a straight-up joy to dive with. We’ve done a few trips with them out of Sharm, and what we consistently find is a focus on relaxed, unhurried diving, which is exactly what we’re after when we’re on holiday. They’re a PADI 5 Star centre, running the full range of courses, but where they really shine is guiding. If you’re looking to explore the reefs around Sharm without feeling like you’re on a cattle boat, these are your people. Our favourite days out with Scorpion typically involve an early start to beat the crowds to spots like Ras Mohammed. We’d suggest you ask them about getting to Shark and Yolanda Reefs for the morning dive, then a drift through the Anemone City. The water always feels like liquid silk there in the early hours. Another thing we appreciate is their commitment to smaller groups. It means less finning through other divers’ bubbles and more time spotting the little stuff – the nudibranchs clinging to the gorgonians, or the occasional stonefish tucked into the sand. They’re not the cheapest in Sharm, but for a personalised experience where you feel genuinely looked after, we think they’re worth every penny.
