OKHA - Sharm el-Sheikh

OKHA is one of those Sharm wrecks that often gets overlooked, probably because she’s so shallow. This roll-on, roll-off vessel ran aground on the reef back in '94, and her sheer size, 177 metres long, means a substantial portion of the hull and superstructure sits right on the surface. We've always found it a great spot for an extended safety stop or a casual, long snorkel. You're really looking at a surface wreck here, with depths rarely exceeding two metres. That makes it perfect for newer divers getting a feel for wrecks, or anyone who just wants a relaxed float. Her upper decks have collapsed in places, creating interesting nooks for sergeant majors and small fusiliers. Keep an eye out for triggerfish patrolling the reef plate below. It’s not a deep exploration, but it’s a good, solid introduction to a large wreck environment.
