Diving spot in Port Sudan - Port Sudan & Sanganeb

Port Sudan itself might not be the picture-postcard dive destination, but the diving just off its shores? That's a different story entirely. We love this site for its sheer unexpectedness. Drop down and you're immediately struck by the sheer density of coral, often forming walls that disappear into the blue. It’s a proper old-school Red Sea dive, less manicured than some of its northern cousins, and all the better for it. We've spent hours here just hovering, watching the drummers school around the bigger coral heads, and the flash of a halfspotted hind darting into cover. Keep an eye out for the argus groupers, they’re often just sitting there, completely unfazed by divers. It’s not about huge pelagics here, though you never know what might cruise past. This is about soaking in a healthy, vibrant reef ecosystem, a real treat for those who appreciate the smaller details and uncrowded sites. We’d suggest going early; the light hitting the coral on a morning dive here is something special.
