ESTARIA - Port Sudan & Sanganeb

The Estaria, a steamship that went down in the late 19th century, sits upright in just 10 metres of water. We love a shallow wreck, especially one so well preserved, and this one is a joy to explore. Her mast, still standing proud, breaks the surface, a clear marker even on a choppy day. Dropping down, you’ll find the deck is completely overgrown with soft corals, a carpet of purples and yellows swaying gently with the surge. Schools of glassfish shimmer through the wheelhouse, scattering as you approach. We’d suggest taking your time to peer into the cargo holds; they’re often home to a grumpy moray or two. This site is perfect for photographers, the natural light at this depth makes for stunning wide-angle shots, and it’s a brilliant second dive after a deeper drift. Even snorkelers can get a fantastic view of this piece of history.
