DONGAH NO. 303 - Fujairah

The Dongah No. 303 isn't deep. At only 5 metres, it’s really more of a large, accessible training ground than a challenging wreck dive. We love it for that. This barge, which parted its towline in a storm back in '89, now sits perfectly upright and completely exposed, a real blessing for new divers or those brushing up on skills. You'll spend your time exploring its open deck, a wide-open space where sunlight streams right through, illuminating schools of small fusiliers that dart in and out of the skeletal structure. It's a great spot to practice buoyancy, hovering just above the deck as you peer into the hold where we've often seen juvenile groupers hiding. Keep an eye out for the resident moray eels peeking from the nooks and crannies. The lack of current usually makes for an easy drift, and the sheer amount of light gives everything a vibrant, almost artificial glow. It’s our pick for a relaxed afternoon dive, perfect for photographers wanting to experiment with wide-angle shots without the pressure of depth or time.
