Humsi Wreck - Fujairah

The Humsi Wreck is Fujairah's go-to introductory wreck, and frankly, we love it. Sunk intentionally in 1999, it’s a relatively shallow dive, sitting upright at 14 metres, making it perfect for newer divers or anyone looking for a relaxed second dive. You can circumnavigate the entire wreck in about 15 minutes, which gives you plenty of time to poke around. What we really enjoy about the Humsi is how well it's aged. The wreck is bristling with life – we've seen everything from moray eels peeking out of cargo holds to schools of snapper swirling around the deck superstructure. Look closely and you'll spot nudibranchs clinging to the rusty metal and shrimp scuttling across the seabed nearby. Our favourite part? Definitely finning through the open cargo hold, imagining what this old dhow might have carried. It’s a proper wreck dive without any of the challenging currents or depths that usually come with them. Bring a torch, even in daylight; it really helps bring out the colours inside the darker sections and highlights the smaller critters.
