INCH CAPE 1 - Fujairah

The Inchcape 1 feels like a proper wreck dive, even though it's relatively shallow at 27 metres. We’re talking about a former dredging barge, scuttled back in 2002. It lies upright and mostly intact on the seabed, which we love because it gives you a real sense of its original form. You can swim through the main hold, which is now home to schools of snapper and fusiliers, sometimes so thick they almost block out the light. Look closely on the hull for moray eels tucked into crevices, and we’ve often spotted stingrays resting on the sand nearby. The visibility here can be a bit variable, but on a good day, when it’s 15 metres or more, the natural light filtering into the hold is just beautiful. Our favourite part is exploring the bridge area; it’s largely open and makes for some great photo opportunities. It's an intermediate dive, suitable for those with some wreck experience or divers comfortable with deeper, darker spaces. We'd suggest checking current conditions before heading out, as stronger surges can reduce visibility.
