INTERBARGE NO.9 - Fujairah

We’re going to be straight with you, Fujairah’s wrecks often get overshadowed by the flashier sites further afield. But Interbarge No.9? This one’s a proper little charmer. Sunk back in ’76, she’s a shallow dive, topping out at 8 metres, making her perfect for newer divers or those just wanting a relaxed second dip. We love how she’s settled upright, almost like she’s still waiting for cargo. The barge itself is a simple structure, but that’s precisely her appeal. You can fin right over the top, peering down into the open holds where light filters in, creating these lovely, dappled patterns. Our favourite bit is the sheer number of yellowtail barracuda that hang out here, often forming a shimmering curtain you can swim right through. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into the shadowed corners and we’ve spotted plenty of inquisitive angelfish picking over the rusted metal. It’s not a deep, dark penetration wreck, but for a shallow, accessible historical site, Interbarge No.9 delivers a genuinely pleasant dive.
