MAHMED SALIM - Fujairah

The Mahmed Salim is one of those Fujairah wrecks we keep coming back to. It’s shallow, only ever five metres deep, which means incredible bottom time and good light penetration even on overcast days. We love that it’s still relatively intact, a real pleasure to fin over and around. The bow and stern sections are particularly clear, and you can really make out the ship’s shape beneath the encrusting corals. What you’ll find here is a true sanctuary for smaller reef fish. Schools of snapper and fusiliers swarm in and out of the superstructure, and if you look closely, you’ll spot moray eels tucked into the darker crevices. We’ve seen cuttlefish here on almost every dive, often right out in the open, drifting lazily. It’s a photographer's dream for wide-angle shots with ambient light and a haven for new divers getting comfortable with wreck diving. The lack of current makes it easy to explore at your own pace, soaking in the history and the vibrant new life it supports.
