MICHELANGELO - Fujairah
Okay, so let's talk about the Michelangelo in Fujairah. Forget deep dives and complex navigation; this site is something else entirely. It's a shallow wreck, barely two metres down, and it's our pick for a unique Fujairah experience, especially if you’re into macro. The Michelangelo is a fishing vessel, not some massive cargo ship, and its character is all about the details. We love poking around its broken hull, seeing how the structure has become a home. You’ll find moray eels tucked into every crevice, little blennies darting over the deck, and pipefish blending in with the rusted metal. The best part? Because it’s so shallow, the light filters through beautifully, illuminating the colours of the sponges and soft corals that have started to colonise the wreck. Visibility here can sometimes be a bit silty, especially after a storm, but even then, the wreck’s close-up appeal shines through. It’s a site where you can take your time, really observe, and enjoy the intimacy of a small wreck that's fully integrated into its environment.
