MORRAFI - Fujairah

Morrafi is one of our favourite Fujairah wrecks, a sunken barge around 30 metres long that’s surprisingly fun to dive. It sits perfectly upright on a sandy bottom, maxing out at 20 metres, which makes it super accessible. We love how the structure itself is fairly simple; no confusing passageways here, just an open cargo hold you can drop into with plenty of light streaming in. What makes Morrafi special is the life it draws in. From the moment you descend, you’re often greeted by schools of yellowfin barracuda, sometimes swirling in a tight column above the wreck. Inside the hold, we’ve spotted giant moray eels peeking from crevices and often find stingrays buried in the sand nearby. The sheer quantity of smaller reef fish, like fusiliers and snapper, schooling around the superstructure, really brings the place alive. It’s a great wreck for newer divers looking to get comfortable with penetration in an open, well-lit space, or for photographers wanting some easy shots of schooling fish against a clear blue backdrop. Dive it in the morning for the best light, before any potential afternoon chop picks up.
