OILMAN - Fujairah

The *Oilman* wreck holds a special place for us in Fujairah. Sunk back in '78 while being towed, it’s a barge that’s become a vibrant artificial reef, sitting at a comfortable 12 metres. This isn't a massive cargo ship, so don't expect expansive penetration, but it’s still a genuinely engaging dive. We love that it’s completely colonised, a testament to how quickly the ocean reclaims things. What you get here is a really easy, relaxed dive, perfect for a long bottom time or if you're dialling in some new gear. The structure itself is a framework of rusted metal, with a soft coral tapestry draped over everything. Look for schools of snapper weaving through the struts, and we often spot moray eels tucked into the darker crevices. Our favourite part? The sheer volume of fusiliers sometimes, so thick they create shimmering walls you can almost swim through. It's a fantastic site for photographers, especially macro, given the light penetration and settled critter life. Go early in the morning for the best light and fewest divers.
