PFE-LB 709 - Fujairah

The PFE-LB 709, a barge that broke loose and sank years ago, is one of our favourite easy-access wrecks in Fujairah. It sits flat on the seafloor at a comfortable 10 meters, making it perfect for newer divers or those who just want a relaxed, long bottom time. We love drifting over the low-lying structure, spotting schools of yellow-tailed snappers that hug the metalwork, occasionally parting to reveal a moray eel peeking from a crevice. Sure, it's not a grand ship, but the PFE-LB 709 has a certain charm. The wreck is well-colonised with soft corals, especially colourful anemones swaying in the gentle surge, each hosting a resident clownfish family. Look closely, and you’ll find nudibranchs crawling along the beams, their colours popping against the rusty brown. It’s a very calm dive, ideal for photographers wanting to practice macro shots without fighting current. We’d suggest going in the morning; the light penetration at this depth is beautiful, really bringing out the corals’ vibrancy.
