Ras Marovi & Sunken Reef - Fujairah

Ras Marovi and the Sunken Reef is one of those Fujairah sites we always enjoy, especially when we’re after a relaxed dive. It’s pretty shallow, topping out at 18m, making it perfect for newer divers or those who just want to extend their bottom time. The star here is the tugboat wreck, surprisingly intact for its age. We love nosing around the wheelhouse, imagining its working life, though penetration is really only for the properly trained, and frankly, there’s plenty to see from the outside. What makes it special for us is how quickly marine life has adopted it. We’ve seen moray eels peeking from the engine room, and schools of snapper often hang out around the stern, so thick they almost obscure the wreck itself. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs on the deck plating, especially the tiny, colourful ones. The current here is usually mild, but a gentle drift can sometimes pick up, carrying you past the wreck and onto the adjacent Sunken Reef, which offers a decent hard coral fix before ascending. It’s a great pick for a second dive of the day, a mellow exploration that consistently delivers.
