SALMEDINA BANK LIGHT VESSEL - Santa Marta & Tayrona

The Salmedina Bank Light Vessel is an interesting shallow dive, often a good option for a second tank. Resting at just four metres, it’s basically a broken-up lightship, now home to all sorts of critters. We’ve found plenty of lobsters tucked into the nooks, along with schools of snapper and grunt milling around the superstructure. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, it’s a relaxed potter around the remains. It’s perfect for new divers getting their first taste of a wreck, or photographers wanting to play with ambient light and macro subjects without worrying about depth or deco.
