Devil’s Crown Islet
Why dive here
With 131+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, seals & sea lions, sea turtles and sperm whales - Devil’s Crown Islet offers some of Galápagos Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 23-28°C, warmest February, March, April.
Dropping into Devil’s Crown, you’re often greeted by a bustling cleaning station, a real show as various reef fish get their spa treatment. The reef here, an interesting mix of endemic coral species, forms a broken crown, hence the name. Keep an eye out for Galapagos sharks patrolling the perimeter and white-tips tucked into crevices. This site, a solid pick off Floreana Island, is best suited for divers who appreciate a lively reef with reliable shark action, though conditions can sometimes be lively too.
Safety Notes
