Bali International Diving Professionals (BIDP) - Bali

BIDP, tucked away near Jimbaran, often flies under the radar for divers who only hit the big-name spots. That’s their loss, because we think this site offers some seriously cool macro opportunities, especially around the seagrass beds. It’s a shallow dive, generally no more than 10-12 metres, which makes for long bottom times and plenty of light for spotting the smaller stuff. Our favourite thing to do here is drift slowly over the halodule seagrass, eyes peeled for the Jimbaran shovelnose ray that sometimes cruises through. We’ve also had incredible luck finding eroded cowries nestled in the blades, and those striking triangular fiddler crabs scuttling across the sand. Look closely in the coral patches for coral blennies – they’re masters of disguise but totally worth seeking out. While you won't get dramatic walls or massive pelagics, the sheer variety of smaller species, like the blackblotch squirrelfish and slender threadfin bream, keeps things interesting. It’s an ideal spot for photographers keen on macro, or newer divers wanting a relaxed dive with plenty to observe without strong currents.
