Bali Scuba - Bali

Right, let’s talk about Bali. Specifically, a site we know simply as Bali Scuba. Now, Bali is many things to many people, and sometimes the diving gets overlooked for the beaches and the rice paddies. But that would be a mistake. We love this site for its sheer, understated reliability. It’s not going to blow your mind with massive pelagics, but it delivers on those smaller, fascinating encounters every time. Imagine the water, maybe 25-27 degrees Celsius, just warm enough to be comfortable in a 3mm shorty. The reef here, while not the most vibrant you’ll ever see, is a living, breathing tapestry of nooks and crannies. Our favourite finds are always the oddballs: a well-camouflaged Crocodile Shark tucked under a ledge, or a shy Indonesian Houndshark peering out from behind a coral head. You’ll spot schools of Five-lined Snapper, their silver bodies flashing, and those curious Coral Blennies, popping their heads out of their little holes. Keep an eye out for the Pharao Flyingfish on your safety stop; they often make a dramatic exit near the surface. This site suits divers who appreciate the hunt for the unusual, who aren’t solely focused on big fish. It’s a great spot for macro enthusiasts, too, with plenty of cowries and those oddly patterned Prickly Spotted Drupes clinging to the rocks. Go slow. Really slow. That’s our best advice here. You’ll be rewarded.
