HAM - Bali

The HAM wreck off Bali is one of those sites that just feels like history resting on the seabed. It’s a steamship, and while it’s classified as dangerous – meaning penetration isn't really on the cards for most, and we’d certainly suggest an experienced guide if you’re even thinking about it – the exterior itself is fascinating. At a maximum depth of 15 metres, there’s plenty of bottom time to explore the hull, which is now home to a surprising number of critters. Keep an eye out for resident batfish schooling around the superstructure and the odd octopus tucked into a crevice. It’s a good option for photographers looking for an atmospheric shot or anyone keen on a relaxed wreck dive without needing advanced certifications.
