JOURNEY - Bali

The JOURNEY wreck, off Bali, is a real favourite of ours, especially for those who appreciate a wreck with a story. This motor vessel, built in '95, went down in 2014 after a collision, and it rests upright, an impressive sight at 15 metres. We love how accessible it is; the depth keeps it well-lit, even on a cloudy day, letting you really appreciate its scale. The bridge and engine room are surprisingly open, offering some fantastic penetration for experienced divers. You can glide through the corridors, imagining the frantic moments before it sank. Schools of batfish often hang around the superstructure, and we’ve seen some hefty groupers tucked into crevices in the cargo hold. Look closely at the deck, the soft corals are starting to bloom, attracting nudibranchs and smaller critters. It’s a comfortable dive, typically with mild currents, making it perfect for photographers or anyone wanting to spend quality time exploring the details of a relatively new wreck.
