KM PERTAMA - 1 - Bali

The KM Pertama, resting at a shallow 12 meters, is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to in Bali. It’s not about grand scale or dizzying depths here; it’s about the atmosphere. This old patrol boat sits upright, largely intact, making it incredibly approachable for divers who might be a bit newer to wreck diving or just want a relaxed second dive. We love finning slowly over the deck, imagining its operational days. Now, the wheelhouse offers an easy swim-through, draped in soft corals. Look inside for the resident lionfish, often just hanging out, unbothered. Schools of fusiliers are usually swirling around the mast, and we’ve often spotted a turtle or two munching on algae nearby. The visibility here is generally reliable, making for some great wide-angle photos, especially when the sun streaks through the water onto the wreck. It’s a genuinely enjoyable dive, even if you’re not a hardcore wreck enthusiast, offering a glimpse into history and a lively ecosystem all at once.
