Mangrove Point

Mangrove Point, off Nusa Lembongan, is one of those sites that just feels good. It's a drift dive, usually, with a gentle current pushing you along a sloping reef. We love it because it’s so reliable for healthy, expansive staghorn coral - great big fields of it, which can be surprisingly hard to find elsewhere. You'll often see banded sea kraits weaving through the coral branches, quite nonchalantly, and we always seem to spot a few orange convict reef gobies darting around. The light here can be incredible, filtering down through the shallow water and dappling the seagrass beds where we’ve often seen spined fiddler crabs scuttling. It’s a gentle dive, perfect for photographers wanting to take their time, or anyone who just wants to soak up the feeling of a healthy reef. If you hit it around slack tide, the current is minimal, letting you linger longer over those big coral formations.
