OB BUJIBA - Bali

The OB Bujiba isn't a showstopper like the Liberty, but we find it genuinely fascinating. This isn't some pristine, intact vessel; it’s a barge that’s been thoroughly wrecked, classifying it as ‘dangerous’ on charts, which only adds to its allure. It sits quite deep, around 35m, so factor in your bottom time. What we love about the Bujiba is how completely nature has reclaimed it. You'll descend onto a structure that's more a chaotic tumble of metal than a recognisable ship, but within that chaos thrives an incredible amount of life. Schools of snapper dart through the gaps, and we’ve spotted moray eels peeking from every crevice. Look closely, and you’ll find nudibranchs crawling over the encrusted beams. The current here can be a bit shifty, so we'd suggest going with a guide who knows the site well and can time the dive for slack water. It’s a site for those who appreciate the raw, wild side of wreck diving, where the ocean has taken back what was once man-made and transformed it into a vibrant, living reef.
