The Crack at Pulau Babi - Flores

Yellow Wall is one of those sites we always try to hit when we're down south in Komodo. It’s a proper wall dive, dropping to 40 metres, though we often find ourselves lingering around 20-25m. The current can certainly pick up here, often a medium push, sometimes a proper rip, so you need to be comfortable in moving water. That current, though, brings in the action. The wall itself isn't a solid sheet of coral; it's a mix of reef and rubble patches, which somehow makes it feel more dynamic. We love drifting along, eyes peeled for the little stuff that really makes this place special. You'll spot High Hat Triplefins darting in and out of crevices and the vibrant Redfin Triplefin perched on coral. Keep an eye out for Castle's Morays tucked away, and if you’re lucky, a fleeting glimpse of a Green Turtle cruising past. The nudibranchs are always a highlight; the Miamira nudibranchs and sea apples add brilliant splashes of colour against the yellow sponges. For the macro enthusiasts, it’s fantastic; we've found Sidespotted Dragonets and plenty of seahares here. This is a site for divers who enjoy a drift, who like to go slow and search out the smaller, more unusual critters. It’s less about huge pelagics and more about the intricate details of the reef.
