Nabucco Outer Reef 1 - Halmahera

Purple Rain has become one of our favourite Grenada sites, and it's all in the name. We love dropping in here, watching those creole wrasse descend en masse, a flowing purple curtain. It’s a gentle slope from about 10 meters down to 20, a really relaxed dive. The reef itself is a good mix of hard corals and big, swaying soft corals – think sea plumes and sea rods everywhere, with plenty of rope sponges dotted among them. We’ve spotted some great little critters tucked away; the American crested pipefish is always a treat if you can find one, and there are some seriously colourful diamond and blackfin blennies peeking out of the coral. Look closely for the saddle squirrelfish too, they blend in well. Visibility usually sits around 15 meters, decent enough for a comfortable dive. It’s perfect for a second dive of the day, or when you just want something easy with a lot to see if you take your time. This site really suits anyone looking for a chilled out dive with plenty of small stuff to discover.
