What we love most is the access they provide to some of Lombok’s deeper, less-explored sites. While most operators stick to the shallows around the Gilis, Tek Deep Asia can take you to those incredible walls and pinnacles where you’ll see schooling mobula rays cruising past at 30 metres, or find white-tip reef sharks resting in deeper crevices. We remember one particular trimix dive where the thermocline hit hard at 40 metres, but breaking through revealed a completely different ecosystem: gorgonian fans the size of small cars and a calmness that felt miles away from the surface chatter. Our tip: chat to them about the best seasonal windows for specific currents; it can make a big difference to site choice. They’re not just teaching; they’re unlocking new possibilities.
