Temple Diving by Mar Adentro - Lombok & Gili Islands
The team at Temple Diving by Mar Adentro are just good people. We’ve always appreciated their vibe, a welcome mix of professional and laid-back that can be surprisingly hard to find. They’re PADI 5-Star, so you’re in solid hands for courses, but we think their real strength lies in guiding divers around the Gili Islands. They know these waters intimately and it shows. Our favourite dives with them are often the drift dives around Gili Trawangan, especially if you catch the current just right at The Gili Slopes or Halik Reef. You barely need to kick, just glide past the gorgonian fans and keep an eye out for white-tip reef sharks cruising below. One morning we had a huge green sea turtle practically pose for us at Turtle Heaven; it was so calm it felt like we were part of its world. We’d suggest hitting the morning trips, before the day boats crowd the sites. The visibility tends to be clearer too, and the water feels cooler, crisper against your skin. They’re a great choice if you’re looking to dive a bit deeper into the Gili’s famous sites without feeling like just another number.
