With 496+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, bull sharks and octopuses - Gimmon Place offers some of Dumaguete's richest diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest June, July, October.
Gimmon Place offers a decent muck dive right off the Dumaguete shoreline. We've often found frogfish here, particularly the giant and painted varieties, along with pipefish camouflaged in the seagrass. It’s a good spot for patient macro photographers looking for critters that blend in with the sandy bottom. Expect mild currents and generally fair visibility.
