North Sea 16 \ Bien Bac 16 - Nha Trang

Bien Bac 16 sits in Nha Trang’s outer bay, a bit of a local secret, and for good reason. It’s not a deep dive, hovering around 8 metres, which means plenty of bottom time and ambient light filtering through the water. What we love about this site is its character – it’s a dangerous wreck, yes, but that just adds to the atmosphere. The ship, likely a cargo vessel, lies broken and scattered across the seabed, its steel plates forming a rugged, artificial reef. You’ll spend your time exploring the mangled metal, weaving through the gaps where the hull has collapsed. Schools of small fusiliers often mill about the superstructure, and we’ve spotted various nudibranchs clinging to the rust-coloured beams. Look closely into the shadowy corners; crabs and moray eels have made these their homes. It’s a dive that suits those who enjoy a bit of history and the unique ecosystems wrecks create, rather than pristine coral. We’d suggest going in the morning; the light plays beautifully through the wreck then.
