Phuc Tinh 26 - Nha Trang

The Phuc Tinh 26 is one of Nha Trang’s newer wrecks, only sinking in April 2022. It went down with a bit of a bang, too, declared a ‘dangerous wreck’ due to the unknown nature of its cargo. Now, almost two years on, it’s settling into its role as an artificial reef, and we’re seeing some interesting changes. We love dropping down to this site, feeling that slight chill as you descend past 30 metres. The wreck itself is largely intact, lying upright, which makes for some great swim-throughs if you're comfortable with overhead environments. You’ll often find schools of rabbitfish and snapper already making the holds their home, and we've spotted a few lionfish lurking in the shadows of the wheelhouse. It’s a proper dive, pushing down to 50 metres, so we’d suggest it for experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and potentially strong currents. The sheer newness of it means marine life is still establishing itself, but watching it evolve over time is half the fun. Keep an eye out for the resident moray eels; they're getting quite bold.
