PY 96121 - Nha Trang

PY 96121, or as we call her, "The Fishing Boat," is a solid Nha Trang wreck. She’s not huge, but there’s enough character here to make it a very worthwhile dive, especially if you're looking for something a bit deeper than the usual Hon Mun sites. The wreck itself is a wooden fishing vessel, sitting upright at around 40 metres, with her mast still reaching up towards 30 metres. We love dropping down the line onto her stern, where schools of batfish often hang out, inquisitive and unbothered by divers. Inside, the holds are open, revealing a tangle of ribs and beams, now home to a surprising number of lionfish and scorpionfish tucked into the shadows. You’ll also spot plenty of nudibranchs crawling across the hull, some of the more vibrant species we’ve seen in Vietnam. The wood is slowly decaying, creating some interesting textures and hidey-holes. Current can be a factor here, so we always suggest checking the conditions before you jump in. It’s a site that suits experienced divers comfortable with depth and a bit of current, offering a peaceful, contemplative dive rather than a frantic wildlife show.
