The team at Coastal Water Dive are the kind of outfit you wish you had in your own backyard. They’re based down south, right in the thick of some truly epic diving, and they know the local waters like the back of their hands. We love that they really focus on getting you comfortable and confident, whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills. What really sets them apart is their enthusiasm for the unique diving this part of WA offers. Think granite boulders carpeted in jewel anemones, the shadowy swim-throughs, and the way the light filters down through the kelp. They run regular trips to sites like the Lena wreck, which we think is a fantastic intermediate dive, with schools of old wives circling the superstructure and the odd cuttlefish hiding in the crevices. Our favourite trips are often their deeper excursions, where you might spot a Western blue devil or an enormous bull ray gliding past. Go with them on a weekday if you can; you'll often have the whole site almost to yourselves. They're PADI through and through, so you know the training is solid, but it's their genuine passion for the ocean that really shines through.
