Belleveu - Klein Bonaire

Belleveu is one of those Bonaire sites that feels like a quiet secret, even though it’s just off Klein Bonaire. We’ve drifted along this wall many times, always appreciating the gentle current that makes it an easy dive. It starts with a broad stretch of sand, where we’ve often spotted southern stingrays fanning up clouds as they hunt, sometimes even a small eagle ray gliding by. The wall itself drops down to about 20 metres, and it’s a lovely, relaxed drift. We particularly like the overhangs and small ledges where you can peer in for cherub pygmy angelfish or the tiny, shy island gobies. Look closely at the massive starlet corals; they’re truly impressive formations, sometimes with a hawksbill turtle resting nearby. We’d suggest going early in the morning, before any boat traffic picks up, as the light on the sand is beautiful and visibility tends to be at its best, often pushing 20 metres. You’ll see plenty of the usual Bonaire suspects, like parrotfish and graysby, but it’s the quiet calm and the chance for a ray encounter that keeps us coming back. This is a perfect site for divers who appreciate a peaceful, unhurried exploration.
