Black Forest - Grand Cayman - Grand Cayman

The Doc Poulson is exactly what we look for in a mid-depth Caribbean wreck: approachable, interesting, and well-colonised. Sunk intentionally, it’s not an ancient relic, but rather a purpose-built home for marine life, resting upright at about 21 metres. We always suggest taking your time here; the bow and stern offer plenty of swim-throughs, and the wheelhouse is a favourite spot to peer into for sleeping nurse sharks or large groupers. What makes Doc Poulson special for us isn't just the structure, but how it’s been adopted. Look closely at the deck for tiny blennies popping out of holes, and the mast is usually draped in schools of snapper. On the sandy bottom nearby, we’ve often spotted eagle rays gliding past. It’s a comfortable dive, often with great visibility, making it a particularly good choice for newer wreck divers or those who simply want a relaxed exploration. We’ve had some cracking night dives here too, when the basket stars extend their feeders and parrotfish tuck themselves into crevices.
