Bullwinkle East - Grand Cayman

Bullwinkle East is one of our favourite shallow dives on Grand Cayman's south side, especially if you’re into squeezing through tight spots. We love the network of swim-throughs and archways here; it feels like navigating a miniature underwater maze. The maximum depth of 19 metres means you get plenty of bottom time, letting you really explore the nooks and crannies. Visibility usually hovers around 23 metres, so light penetrates well into the canyons. Look up through the archways and you'll often see schools of French grunts shimmering against the sunlight. We’ve spotted arrow crabs tucked into the reef walls and even a Yellow stingray or two resting in the sand channels. Keep an eye out for the bright blue dots of juvenile yellowtail damselfish darting amongst the corals, and sometimes, a Warteye Stargazer half-buried in the sand, just its eyes peeking out. This site is perfect for divers who enjoy intricate topography and a relaxed pace, with enough sheltered spots to make it a calm dive even on slightly choppier days.
