Jack Iron Point, Carriacou - Carriacou

Manta Point, on the south side of Gili Trawangan, is exactly what it sounds like. We love it because, while not a guaranteed daily show, the mantas do genuinely pass through. We’ve had incredible luck here, particularly late morning. It’s a gently sloping reef, mostly hard and soft corals, with plenty of bommies and big table corals offering shelter. The maximum depth is 18 metres, making it a relaxed dive. Even without a manta flyby, it’s a lovely, easy dive. We often spot blue-spotted stingrays tucked into the sand, and the usual suspects like cuttlefish and octopus hang around the coral heads. The visibility averages 18 metres, which is decent for photography. There’s rarely any significant current, so it’s a calm drift, perfect for newer divers or those who just want to cruise and search for reef sharks. Keep your eyes peeled on the blue, but don’t forget to check the sandy patches for rays.
