Kaiwai Watersports at Six Senses Resort - Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef

The team at Kaiwai Watersports, based out of the Six Senses Resort, really knows the Great Astrolabe Reef. We’ve found they’re particularly adept at guiding those newer to diving, with a really patient approach to PADI courses – a great option if you’re looking to get certified or brush up on skills. They’re a fantastic choice for anyone staying on Malolo Island who wants a convenient, well-run operation without sacrificing the quality of the diving. Our favourite thing about Kaiwai is their focus on the smaller, more intimate reef systems just off Malolo. We’ve had some cracking dives exploring the bommies here, packed with soft corals that look like they’re glowing in the current. Keep an eye out for the resident reef sharks cruising by and the schools of fusiliers so thick they sometimes block the light. They often run two-tank morning trips, which we always prefer; it means you’re back in time for lunch and can spend the afternoon lounging or exploring the island. The boats are comfortable and well-maintained, and the guides genuinely love showing off their backyard. They’re also really good at finding quieter spots even on busier days.
