Taketomi South Potato Rock - Ishigaki & Yaeyama

Potato Rock, just off Taketomi Island, is a really approachable dive. It’s a good spot for newer divers, maxing out at a gentle 14 meters. The site itself is one big, impressive rock formation that acts like an apartment building for a bunch of different creatures. We’ve seen lots of nudibranchs here, tucked into the crevices, and usually a few reef fish darting between the boulders. It’s a comfortable, easy dive, perfect for getting back into things or just enjoying a relaxed afternoon underwater.
