PRESIDENT GRANT - Northeast Coast

The President Grant holds a special place for us on Taiwan’s Northeast Coast. This isn't just a sunken ship; it's a massive, 200-meter-long beast that's really settled into its new life on the seabed. Dropping down, you start to make out the sheer scale of it, and then the details emerge – huge cargo holds, parts of the superstructure, all draped in a thick tapestry of corals and sponges. We love tracing the deck, imagining the containers it once carried, now home to schools of fusiliers so thick they block the light, and curious batfish that follow you around. What makes it a standout is the blend of history and biology. You’re exploring a genuine piece of maritime history, the ghost of a working vessel, completely transformed. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs tucked into crevices and the occasional moray eel peering out from a dark corner. The depth, hitting 40 meters, means it’s definitely one for experienced divers, and we’d suggest going on a day with minimal current to fully appreciate the structure. This isn't a quick dip; it’s an exploration, a dive that really makes you feel like an underwater archaeologist.
