With 100+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, sea turtles, spinner dolphins and whale sharks - Black Coral Faru offers some of South Malé Atoll's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Black Coral Faru is a comfortable reef dive in South Malé. We've often found ourselves drifting along, spotting a surprising number of smaller, shyer fish here. Look closely among the coral heads for the African Basslet and Emery's Pygmygoby. We also frequently pick out Bennett's Pufferfish hiding in plain sight. It’s a good choice for divers who appreciate taking their time and focusing on the intricate details of the reef rather than big pelagics.
