WEOL-MI NO 303 - KwaZulu-Natal

WEOL-MI NO 303 isn’t your typical deep wreck dive. This is beach diving, pure and simple, and we love it for its sheer accessibility and surprising character. The trawler, which went down in '68, sits right there, barely covered by the highest tides. You can wade out, mask on, and practically snorkel over it. We’ve found the best time is low tide on a calm day; the visibility really opens up, and you can see the hull plates, barnacle-encrusted, with small damselfish darting in and out. It’s perfect for new divers or anyone who just wants a relaxed splash, exploring the skeletal remains of a working boat without needing a boat trip. We've often seen octopus tucked into crevices and parrotfish grazing around the rusted metal, a testament to how quickly the ocean reclaims things. Forget fancy gear, just bring a mask and fins.
