With 41+ marine species recorded in the area - including humpback whales, sea turtles, spinner dolphins, napoleon wrasse and pufferfish - Snapper Point offers some of Dar es Salaam & Offshore Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 26-30°C, warmest March, April, December.
Snapper Point sits off Dar es Salaam, an easy boat ride from the city. The site is a decent rubble reef, sloping gently to around 18 metres. You'll often find a good number of snappers and groupers hanging out, plus the occasional green sea turtle grazing. It's a relaxed dive, good for beginners looking for some easy exploration and a few fish.
