Great Wall
Why dive here
With 312+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays, dolphins, eagle rays and hammerhead sharks - Great Wall offers some of Zanzibar & Pemba's richest wall diving. Water ranges 26-30°C, warmest February, March, April.
The Great Wall is exactly what it sounds like, a sheer drop-off that plunges into the deep blue. Here, we've found plenty of pelagics cruising by, often a good spot for reef sharks and schooling barracuda. It’s a site for those comfortable with deeper water and the chance of some stronger currents, offering a classic Indian Ocean wall dive experience. We think it’s best for experienced divers looking for that big fish action.
