GOLIAT - Bornholm

We’ve been diving the Baltic for years, and Bornholm's GOLIAT is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to. She was a tug, sunk in '82 after a run-in with a bulk carrier, and now she sits upright at a very manageable 14 metres. It’s an ideal depth for really taking your time. We love exploring the bow, where the chains still hang heavy, and peeking into the wheelhouse – it feels like you're stepping back into a moment frozen in time. The GOLIAT has become a proper artificial reef, covered in mussels and anemones, which always brings in a decent number of blennies and gobies. Keep an eye out for larger cod patrolling the deeper sections around the stern. Our favourite part is ducking into the cargo hold; it’s a tight squeeze but worth it to feel the enclosed space and see the light shafts pierce through. Visibility can be a bit variable, but on a good day, with a bit of sunlight, the wreck’s details really pop. We’d suggest going on a calm morning for the best chance at clear water and minimal current. It's a great wreck for newer wreck divers to practice penetration skills, but experienced folks will appreciate the sense of history too.
