M F V Mystique wreck - South Coast

The MFV Mystique wreck on Ireland's South Coast is one of those dives we just keep coming back to. It’s not a massive wreck, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in character. Dropping down, you’ll find the fishing trawler resting upright, usually with a decent current pushing through, so good buoyancy is key here. We love finning slowly along the deck, peeking into the wheelhouse – it feels like you're exploring a ghost ship. Keep an eye out for the resident conger eels; they're often tucked away in crevices, just their heads visible. The deck is also covered in anemones and dead man’s fingers, all swaying in the surge, giving the whole wreck a pulse. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration rather than just rushing through. This one suits divers who appreciate the history of a wreck and the smaller details, rather than just big pelagics.
