Shingle - West Coast
The Shingle, a motor vessel, lies upright at 27 metres off Ireland's west coast. We’ve found her to be a compelling dive, a wreck that carries a real sense of history. Visibility can be hit or miss here, so pick your day, but on a good one, the scale of the wreck is impressive as it emerges from the gloom. Hard corals have started to colonise the structure, and you’ll often spot lobsters tucked into crevices or a curious conger eel peering from a porthole. It’s a site best enjoyed by experienced divers comfortable with deeper wrecks and changeable Atlantic conditions.
